New Version of Activant Business Analyzer Gives Distributors More Analysis Tools

YARDLEY, PA, December 14, 2009 -- Expanding the already extensive business information tool set available to distributors, Activant Solutions Inc. (Activant®) introduced the latest version of Activant Business Analyzer™ solution.

"The addition of the new bookings cube, user-defined columns, and user defined class dimensions added across more of the information cubes makes the Activant Business Analyzer solution an even strong tool," said Trent Greenawalt, IT manager for Anderson Pump & Process. "I also like the new interface, which streamlines the user's interactions with the program."

The latest version of Activant Business Analyzer software makes even more information available to distributors, including bookings information, which allows users to analyze the orders placed on a given day. One of the capabilities the product allows distributors to do is track changes to existing orders based on the original order date or the date of the modification as compared to promised date, providing even more flexibility in analysis related to their customer performance.

"Additional dimensions for analyzing data have also been added throughout the Activant Business Analyzer solution," said Kevin Roach, executive vice president and general manager of Activant. "One key dimension that was added in numerous places are user defined fields class fields. This dimension of analytics allows our users to analyze information by class related to the data. For example, sales managers can now analyze all sales and order backlog information by the customer's primary class, to determine which type of customers are the most profitable."

Purchasing managers can view purchasing order history to analyze the purchases made over time. The solution allows them to view what suppliers material is being purchased from, the trending of the purchases by item class, and other pertinent historical information related to purchases.

Another key feature new to the Activant Business Analyzer solution is the ability to store information in customizable, user-defined columns. Users can now store information related to data such as customer or item data within the solution. Information may come from within the distributor's database, or it may be a data element sourced from outside of the system. The Activant Business Analyzer solution provides for an easy import and updating of user defined fields.
