New Technology System Continues to Improve Customer Service, Provide Platform for Growth
ROCK HILL (April 3, 2003) - C.C. Dickson Co. announced today it plans to centralize distribution functions at its automated, 100,000-square-foot distribution center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
The company's new technology platform has greatly expanded capabilities at the Rock Hill Distribution Center, which currently processes 95 percent of all customer orders - and has the capacity to handle 100 percent. As a result, the smaller Decatur, GA, and Lebanon, TN, distribution centers will close as of May 30, 2003.
"We have been very pleased with the improved customer service, delivery speed, communications and efficiencies we've been able to generate as a result of our new system," said Jack DeMao, President and CEO. "The investment in this technology, along with capital improvements across the company, is consistent with our long-term commitment to growth and to providing the best service possible to our customers."
The new technology platform is an integrated application of Prophet 21's "CommerceCenter" ERP system and Pathguides "Latitude" warehouse management system. The platform automates processing for areas such as customer invoicing, product ordering and warehouse management.
