New Release Streamlines Processes

YARDLEY, PA, October 24, 2006 - Activant Solutions Inc. announced the availability of Activant Disc version 6.0. Based on customer requests, the newest version of the UNIX-based enterprise software solution features paperless reporting for SRVE, automated month-end processing, and more.

"Activant is pleased to release Disc 6.0," said Steve McLaughlin, senior vice president and general manager of Activant's wholesale distribution group. "It is another example of our commitment to developing the solutions our customers rely upon to help streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase sales."

New Features, More Time

As beta testers of Disc version 6.0, employees at Edwards Technical Sales, a Georgia-based distributor of process equipment, filter products, and control instrumentation, had a chance to try out the new functionality in the solution ahead of its release.

Melinda Driskell, operations manager at the company, was impressed by how many of the new features increased efficiencies and created timesavings. "The Factory Drop Ship process was improved, eliminating the possibility for entering duplicate invoices," she said. "And the ability to reprint laser documents that had been e-mailed or faxed saves me a lot of time."

New Features Include:

• Integrated Credit Card Solution - The integrated credit card processing solution offers a more cost effective way for Disc users to handle credit card transactions by eliminating several steps and speeding up the process. In addition, the security of the credit card information increases with storage and transmission encryption.
• Paperless Reporting for SRVE - Sales Reports Via E-Mail (SRVE) can now be purchased with the Paperless Reports module, eliminating the need to purchase the Net.Reports module, and making SRVE available to more Disc users and more cost effective to implement.
• Purchase Pro Module Standard - Streamline your purchasing processes and expertly manage your inventory with the Purchase Pro module, now included in all systems at no extra charge.
• Month End Batch Reporting - Automate the month end process by creating a list of reports to be run automatically, by specific parameter sets, in a specific order, with and without dependencies upon completion of other reports in the list. You also have the ability to lock out other users from specific tasks. Batch lists can be saved and used again at a later date.
• Orders Audit Trail - You can now view order changes using an inquiry task instead of going through Booked Order reports. This feature enables you to view an audit trail of customer orders found in the Booked Order History file, and select a particular order to drill down and get order change information at the header and line item levels.
