Prophet 21 releases new version of distribution software

Prophet 21 Inc. introduced Trading Partner Connect version 5.0, the latest version of the company's Internet trading network designed to help distributors and manufacturers/suppliers streamline the commerce process in a collaborative environment.

The new software includes the following enhancements: Electronic data interchange value added network aggregation should allow distributors to send transactions with little intervention, thereby reducing EDI VAN charges. Distributors and manufacturers can also use the software to set strict trading relationship rules between themselves and each member of the network, and to rationalize their own item database to any manufacturer lines provided in version 5.0.

"With Trading Partner Connect, Prophet 21 set out to streamline the way the distribution industry does business," said Chuck Boyle, president and CEO. "Version 5.0 further streamlines the process, but also makes it possible for Trading Partner Connect members to get a greater return on their investment in a shorter period of time."
