A combination of technologies provides distributors with a comprehensive educational package
Responding to distributors' need to cut costs while increasing sales and improving customer service, Prophet 21 has developed an innovative implementation program for new Prophet 21 CommerceCenter customers and existing Prophet 21 customers looking to make the move to Prophet 21 CommerceCenter.
"By taking advantage of the available technology, we reduced the investment in implementing CommerceCenter by 20 percent and reduced the time to implement by 10 percent," says Bill Patton, vice president of professional services at Prophet 21. "Prophet 21 has passed the savings on to our customers."
Prophet 21 supplements costly on-site and travel-intensive training with Prophet 21 University Web-Based and Computer-Based Training to shrink implementation fees while providing distributors with flexible tools that they can adapt to their schedules.
"This combination of technologies provides distributors with a comprehensive educational package," says Patton. "Their employees can get up to speed faster, which will help the business take full advantage of CommerceCenter much sooner."
As of April 11, any distributor investing in Prophet 21 CommerceCenter will automatically receive the new implementation program.
Web-Based Training
Web-Based Training enables participants to engage in one- to two-hour classes delivered over the Internet. Students interact online in real-time with the instructor and other students without leaving their office. Using an Internet browser, students log on to a specified Web site to view class handouts, gain hands-on experience with Prophet 21 software, listen to the instructor, and verbally ask questions. Since everything takes place from the participants' own computers, travel expenses have been eliminated and students can apply what they've learned immediately.
"Web-Based Training provided the perfect vehicle to meet my goal of training 503 employees to the highest standard, in record time, with the least cost to the company," says Rhonda Acker, director of operations for DXP Enterprises, Inc. "Prophet 21 helped DXP realize a huge savings by utilizing Web-Based Training."
Computer-Based Training
Computer-Based Training, delivered via CD-ROM, incorporates audio, video, and animation to instruct users in the operation of Prophet 21's enterprise software solutions. Purchased singly or in suites, Computer-Based Training disks can be reused and enable distributors to train new employees as they enter the company. Students set the pace of their study. Computer based training incorporates extensive tests to ensure that students obtain the proper level of understanding.
"I have written and evaluated several training programs," says Rick Dumont, operations administrator for Restaurant Equipment Sales, a restaurant equipment distributor based in Wilmington, DE. "Prophet 21's Computer-Based Training is among the best I've ever seen. They have a natural flow and educate while they entertain, yet don't insult your intelligence. I'm impressed with the quality of the presentations. These modules make it quick and easy to get up to speed."
